Nine heritage holes, 18 tee positions laid into Staffordshire countryside, beneath the silhouette of a medieval castle. Par 72, four colour-coded tees, 6,316 yards from the back — and one of the first courses in the country redesigned for the World Handicap System.
Some courses are built. This one was carved.
The land here is older than the game itself. Medieval traces still ghost the fairways — and Stafford Castle has watched every round we've played since 1907.
The course wasn't dropped onto flat ground. It was laid into the landscape: the lie of the land, the wind off the Trent valley, the trees that were here before we were. Surfaces have improved. The routing is original.

Two sets of tees on every hole — play it once for nine, twice for a full eighteen-hole round. Walkable in under three hours.
